Dybala Led Roma to a Coppa Italia Quarterfinal Victory

It was a historic night in Rome as Paul Dybala led AS Roma to a stunning Coppa Italia quarterfinal victory over Inter Milan. The young Argentinian striker had been on stunning form in the current season, but even his most ardent fans couldn’t have expected such an inspired performance on the evening.

Dybala proved to be the star of the show as he scored twice, both of which were superbly taken and indicative of his ever-improving quality in front of goal. He terrorized Inter’s defence throughout and seemed to have an extra gear when needed, producing moment after moment of magical play that left supporters inside Stadio Olimpico spellbound. For the first time since 2016, Roma had reached the semi-finals of the competition and could now begin dreaming of lifting Italian football’s second most prestigious title for a fifth time in their history.

The match itself started slowly with neither side able to gain a foothold in proceedings, but it was Inter who created the first clear opportunity only for it to be spurned by Romelu Lukaku. Dybala however soon took center stage as he sliced through Inter’s defence before shooting powerfully into the net from long range just before half-time – giving Roma a deserved lead heading into the break.

Inter improved after half-time and equalized shortly after following some great hold up play from Lukaku, yet it was Dybala who once again provided the spark that Roma needed late on in order to seal all three points. With just minutes remaining, he latched onto a sublime pass from Jordan Veretout before chipping Antonio Candreva with perfect composure and accuracy – leaving Samir Handanovic with no chance whatsoever and sparking wild celebrations across Rome. By scoring two goals in one match, Dybala became only the third player in Roma’s history to achieve this feat – behind Francesco Totti and Rodolfo Volk – cementing his place among some of their greatest players ever.

This victory will not only go down as one of Paul Dybala’s finest performances for AS Roma soccer club but also potentially be remembered as an important milestone on their way towards success this season; if they can add silverware then nights like these would become commonplace at Stadio Olimpico under Paulo Fonseca’s leadership. It is safe to say that the future looks promising for both Dybala and Roma. With a new season ahead, only time will tell if they can take their impressive form into a successful 2021-2022 campaign. And if Dybala continues to show the same quality for the Giallorossi, then there’s no doubt that he will be remembered as a true legend of AS Roma.
